Ethio Fidelity admitted as a trading member of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange

The firm becomes the first independently established dealer to attain full trading membership of the ESX, completing the path from licence to live market access.

Ethio Fidelity Securities S.C. has been admitted as a trading member of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange, completing the regulatory path that began with the grant of our securities dealer licence in March.

Trading membership is the operational counterpart to a dealer licence. The licence establishes that a firm is fit to deal in securities; membership establishes that it may place orders on the exchange itself. With both in place, Ethio Fidelity can now execute client orders on the ESX and quote prices on its own account.

We are the third trading member admitted to the exchange, and the first independently established dealer, as distinct from an investment bank affiliated with a commercial bank, to reach full membership. That distinction matters for the market. A dealer that commits its own capital to quoting two-way prices contributes something a pure agency broker cannot: a price available when nobody else is offering one.

Our immediate priority is straightforward. We intend to be a consistent presence in the order book, to publish research that helps investors understand what they are buying, and to make account opening simple enough that people who have never owned a listed share can begin.
